Cosmo Coffee started in 1966 as an original coffee bar in Eindhoven. Since then Cosmo Coffee has made a lot of changes in its service and products. The company started as a single bar in just one location on the so called Cosmoslaan in Eindhoven. But in 1977 the owners of the bar decided that it was time for a big change, they decided to make it a franchise organization. This was a big shock for the loyal customers. Altough they were sceptical at first, after the owners of the bar explained themselves and told the majority of their plans, the people started to get thrilled about this idea. They even tried to help him, and as a small but well known group of loyal coffee drinkers they started to contribute in this creative and complicated progress. After a few months the owners came with a legitement plan and because of their good financial results from the past few years the bank had faith in this idea so they were on board with it. The second location opend in Utrecht. Because of the exponantial growth from one to two bars the owners had a very busy but ecxiting time. The second bar did just as it was predicted. After a few weeks the bar was full of people every day and the owners had no trouble training and hiring young, motivated and talented people. But this was just the start of what was going to be the biggest coffee brand in Holland. Cosmo Coffee designed their first machines for private use back in 1999. This was a very big success and made the company well known troughout the Netherlands. On this day the company has 412 bars and 21 shops. The owners say they are not ready to go abroad, but they have no doubt that someday it will happen.
